New RPG Maker incoming?
author=Libertyauthor=DarkenMaybe it's not RMW or peeps in charge of the marketting but someone that Degica has specifically hired for it that isn't part of the community.
maybe everyone at RMWeb is playing world of warcraft and thinking about the next expansion pack. "That illidan prepared line creates FOMO right?"
oh wait...
thought that was fucking obvious tho
But yeah, you can't throw that shitfest of a marketting ploy on RMW and crew since they were just given shit to put up. I can tell ya now, it would have been a hell of a lot better worded if it had been.
Did they pull a dude off the street because cmon

author=visitorsfromdreamsauthor=SoozYeah, what's the deal with there not being many porn games with original assets? :/author=Sgt MI mean if we're gonna be honest it's "porn game with stolen CG assets maker" at this point.
Let's just call the next one Yume Nikki Maker and get on with it
I'm pretty sure those are all made by the same small handful of developers that mass-produce them as quickly as possible, so it's probably more time-effective to use RTP.

author=Soozauthor=DarkenA lot of companies these days are focused on constant growth, to the exclusion of reason. So it's a constant effort to find new consumers, even if the product is "engine that appeal primarily to an ever-shrinking niche of old people, because nobody new knows or cares about SNES style JRPGs except for a tiny fraction of internet kids that like horror games."
Most of the marketing atm seems to be geared to the long term "here's what RPG Maker is." Which is a contradicting theory... I'm assuming most profits on launch are gonna be from returning users, couldn't hurt to have a detailed feature blog post though.

It's a very muted announcement for something coming out in a couple of months and I have to admit I'm erring on the side of caution.

Tomorrow, we learn more.
I don't have much of a wishlist, but I'd definitely love to see an option for text input for event commands, beyond using the "Script" command that is basically plaintext. Anything to give those poor mouseclicks a rest.

Even with curation, Switch has discoverability issues and the eShop interface has barely been changed since the system's launch and looks like it was made for the 20-something games the eShop launched with, not 10,000. From what I hear, as soon as your game hits Page 2, you're done.
There's a reason why you see so many Switch games on sale for 99% off. The sale page is the only place you can be reliably seen.
EDIT: I guess my point isn't completely on-topic so please excuse me in advance if I end up derailing this thread.

IT'S A PRODUCT, NOT A LABOR OF LOVE.
It's within consumers rights to be negative about a product if they've not been completely happy about products in the past.
This is the kind of rationale that leads to harassment and abuse. "It's a thing that has no emotional value, therefore I can do whatever I want in response to it." And that is exactly what happened, which led to Yanfly's retirement.
I've never been an MV person and I still have a lot of gripes with the engine. But the amount of work that Nessy, Yanfly and others put into fixing it as much as they could came from a deep love of RPG Maker. No, I don't think it was right for Kadokawa to have released MV in the state they they did, but to discredit the hundreds of manhours, from a team that have been long-time fans of the series, that went into getting it to where it is now because "it's just a product" is really insulting.
